What standard entry includes
One standard entry ticket covers three sites: the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. There is no Colosseum-only ticket, so all three come with every booking. What's included explains how they fit together.
Entry is timed. You book a slot and arrive inside it, which keeps you out of the ticket-office queue. Without a timed ticket that queue runs 1 to 2 hours in peak season.
The Forum and Palatine Hill part of the ticket stays valid for 24 hours.
Nobody walks you round. If you want a live guide, the guided tour adds one. If you would rather have narration on your phone, look at the audio guide.
What standard entry costs
The official adult price is about EUR 18, plus a booking fee of about EUR 2. Under-18s enter free, and visitors aged 18 to 25 pay about EUR 2.
Viator and GetYourGuide sell the same access with their own markup on top. The official site has a limited allocation, so a reseller matters most when your date has sold out there. Reseller prices change by date, so the listing shows the figure and we do not print one here.
Before you book
Tickets are nominative. Enter your full legal name at checkout, and carry ID that matches it.
Booking about 30 days ahead is the usual advice. Peak season fills sooner.
The security check at the gate is separate from the ticket queue and still applies.
